Description of the genus

Deciduous tree up to 25m, trunk about 60-100 cm in diameter. Leaves 1-pinnate; leaflets alternate. Flowers in racemes, small, yellow with 5 petals. Pod with a single seed.

Worldwide: 1 species, native to South America.

Zimbabwe: 1 cultivated taxon.
