Description of the genus

Perennial herbs with orange latex. Leaves palmately lobed, frilly, glabrous or sparsely hairy, white-glaucous beneath. Flowers small in crowded, large terminal panicles of tubular white/cream flowers; petals 0. Fruit a capsule.

Worldwide: 2-3 species native to China and Japan

Zimbabwe: 1 cultivated taxon.
