Description of the genus

Evergreen shrub or tree, without tendrils. Stipules 0. Latex white. Leaves opposite or in whorls of 3-5. Inflorescences cymose and axillary. Corolla salver-shaped; lobes overlapping to the left. Ovary glabrous. Carpels 2, free. Fruit a compound berry.

Worldwide: 3 species in tropical Africa
