Description of the genus

Bushy, glabrous shrub. Leaves small (3-5(-10) mm long), alternate or borne in fascicles. Inflorescence of short racemes arising from the upper fascicles. Calyx 5-7-lobed. Corolla funnel-shaped with 5 spreading lobes. Stamens 4, didynamous, included within the corolla; staminode 1; anthers 1-celled. Style filiform, thickened above. Ovary 2-locular; ovules many. Fruit a capsule.

Worldwide: A monotypic genus, occurring in Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa (Limpopo and Northwest Provinces)

Zimbabwe: 1 taxon.
