Description of the genus

Climbers (in ours). Leaves opposite, imparipinnate with 5 or more leaflets; tendrils 0. Inflorescence a terminal panicle. Calyx campanulate, 5-lobed, tube inflated. Corolla mauve-pink. Stamens 4, didynamous. Staminode 1. Ovary oblong. Capsule linear, flattened. Seeds winged.

Derivation of name: an anagram of Pandorea, an Australian genus in which these species were once included

Worldwide: 2 species in tropical and S Africa
