Description of the genus

Annual herb. Leaves alternate, sessile. Capitula very small, crowded in dense axillary racemes or glomerules and surrounded by fine woolly hairs. Receptacle convex, nude. Corolla yellowish; outer florets female with a filiform corolla; inner bisexual, cylindric to narrowly funnel-shaped. Achenes narrowly turbinate, slightly flattened. Pappus a minute serrulate corona, sometimes with a few longer setae in an inner series.

Worldwide: 1 species in south tropical Africa.

Zimbabwe: 1 taxon.
