Description of the genus
Derivation of name: Flowers resembling a Dendrobium Comment: Formerly in Polystachya section Dendrobianthe, this genus was recently separated from Polystachya on the basis of phylogenetic research (Mytnik-Ejsmont, 2011). The species are most closely related to the Tanzanian species Neobenthamia gracilis Worldwide: 3 species fairly widespread in Tropical Africa. |
