Petals 5, subequal, joined at the base to the staminal sheath; keel with an appendage. Stamens 5. Ovary (2-)3-locular with 1 pendulous ovule per loculus. Fruit a subspherical berry. Seeds with long silky hairs. Worldwide: 4 species in tropical Africa and Madagascar |
