Description of the genus

Trees or shrubs. Branchlets smooth, not channelled longitudinally. Petals hairy. Anthers frequently with an appendage. Ovary completely 3-locular.

Worldwide: c. 26 species in tropical Africa and Madagascar

Zimbabwe: 3 taxa.
