Description:
Rhizome horizontal, densely covered with red-brown hairs (up to 5 mm long). Fronds tufted. Stipe with long hairs. Sterile lamina up to 11 cm × 7.5 cm, ovate-deltate to ovate-oblong in outline, bipinnatifid to tripinnatifid; ultimate segments rounded, adnate, minutely shallowly toothed, sparsely hairy on both surfaces. Fertile pinnea tripinnatifid, ultimate segments hairy, petiolules up to 5.5 cm. Sporangia in two rows.         
Notes: Similar to A. simii but fertile segments hairy.

Habitat: Rocky places in seasonally dry miombo woodland, terrestrial or lithophytic.
