Description:
Small epiphyte or occasional lithophyte, forming dense clumps. Pseudobulbs slender, narrowly cylindric, up to 5 cm tall, 1-leaved. Leaf up to 12 cm long grass-like, more or less terete, tubular in the basal part. Inflorescence arising from the leaf fold, several-flowered, much shorter than the leaf. Flowers c. 13 mm in diameter with spreading lateral sepals, white with mauve markings and a yellow spot in the throat and centre of the lip, delicately rose-scented.

Worldwide distribution: This subsp. is only known from Tanzania and Zimbabwe. Subsp. caespitifica and subsp. latilabris occur in Kenya and Tanzania.
