Derivation of specific name: holubii: after Dr Emil Holub (1847-1902), Czech author, physician, naturalist and explorer in Southern Africa.
Habitat: Dry open grassland and wooded grassland on Kalahari sands or dambo grasslands.
Altitude range: (metres) 1000 - 1400 m
