Description:
Small parasitic shrub, up to c. 1 m. Branchlets with whitish to pale brown stellate hairs. Leaves mostly clustered on short shoots, ovate-elliptic or obovate, stellate hairy on both surfaces. Flowers in terminal heads, typically emerging from a tuft of small elliptic leaves (photo left). Corolla 3.5-5 cm, greenish-yellow, sometimes flushed orange, densely covered in silky hairs. Berry red, 12-18 mm including the calyx, pilose. Similar to E. dregei, but distinguished by the longer peduncles, which emerge from a tuft of relatively small hairy leaves. See also E. virescens for comparison.
Notes: Found on a wide variety of hosts, particularly Combretaceae and legumes.

Habitat: In Acacia, mopane and mixed deciduous woodland and wooded grassland.
