Description:
Weak procumbent or ascending herb. Leaves up to 4.5 × 3 cm, ovate, with scattered glandular hairs on both surfaces; petiole up to 2.5 cm. Flowers in lax terminal inflorescences, densely glandular hairy. Petals white, bifid c. 1/3 down. Capsule spherical, opening at the apex into 6 valves.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: mannii: after Gustav Mann (1836-1916), British colonial representative in the Gulf of Guinea, who collected plants in that area.
Habitat: On the forest floor in evergreen forest.

Worldwide distribution: Cameroon, DRC, Sao Tome, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe. Also in Madagascar.
