| Description: |
Medium to large evergreen tree, often with a buttressed stem. Bark grey-brown, shallowly fissured, reddish brown when slashed, revealing creamy-white wood. Leaves oblong to slightly ovate up to 10 × 4 cm, dark glossy green above, pale blue-green below, more or less distinctly 3-veined from above the base; apex rounded, obtuse or emarginate; margin entire, wavy. Flowers in short axillary heads, greenish and inconspicuous. Fruit subspherical, c. 2 cm in diameter, dark red to purple when ripe. | |
