Description:
Stout biennial succulent herb, up to 1.5 (2.5) m, glabrous but entirely covered in a whitish powdery layer. Leaves oblong-spathulate, obovate or subcircular, mostly on the lower stem and at the base; the basal leaves often upright and parallel to each other like stacked dinner plates; margin often reddish on the lower leaves. Inflorescence a continuous or interrupted series of clusters. Flowers pale pink, pale yellow or greenish.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: luciae: possibly named after a Lucy Dufour, friend of French botanist and physician Raymond Hamet who first described this species.
Habitat: A species of rocky slopes in various types of woodland.
