Description: |
Usually a prostrate, trailing herb but sometimes growing into a more erect subshrub. Stems and branches covered with fine short hairs and longer bristly hairs particularly when young. Leaves 3-foliolate with leaflets rhombic to ovate, 2-11 cm long, with long and short hairs on both surfaces; margin entire, sometimes wavy. Petiole 1-10.5 cm long. Stipules deciduous, brown, oblong-lanceolate, up to 18 × 4 mm, pointed at th apex, finely and dansely puberulous and with scattered longer hairs, patricularly near the node. Inflorescence terminal, 7-30 cm long. Flowers orange to bright red. Fruit 1.3-4.5 cm long, of (1)4-5 obliquely lunate articles covered with hooked hairs, which make them stick tightly to clothing and animal fur. |
