Description:
Perennial climbing or twining herb. Stems more or less densely velvety. Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets broadly ovate, up to 11 × 10 cm, somewhat cordate at the base, hairy especially when young. Flowers blue, sometimes purple; standard with 2 L- or U-shaped appendages; keel symmetrical with a 3 mm long beak. Pods 3.5-5 cm long, linear cylindric, curved, hairy; apex with a short curved beak
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: gazensis: of Gazaland, a historic name for Southern Mozambique.
Habitat: In montane grassland and scrub and along margins of forest.
Altitude range: (metres) 1200 - 2200 m

Worldwide distribution: Angola, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Madagascar.
