Perennial climber. The species originates from Africa but now widely cultivated for its edible beans. Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets rhombic-ovate with straight or slightly concave sides. Flowers in axillary inflorescences, mauve to purple with various amounts of white. Pods flat with a verrucose margin. | |
