| Description: |
Succulent spiny tree, main stem divided into several trunk-like branches, each with a crown of curved, ascending branches. This subspecies can be distinguished from var. confinalis by its 5-6 angled trunk, more main branches and more persistent spines. |
| Notes: | It is confined to the granite outcrops and ridges of the Matobo and Bikita areas. |
