Description:
Climbing shrub or liane with simple coiled tendrils in the axils of triangular bracts. Bark smooth, pale brown; young branches with yellowish hairs. Leaves opposite, elliptic to ovate, mostly 2-7 long, more or less distinctly 3-5-veined from near the base, hairless or with yellowish hairs on the veins and margins, apex rounded, sometimes with a fine sharp point. Flowers solitary or in few-flowered axillary heads, white to yellow. Fruits ellipsoid to round, 1-2 cm long, fleshy, yellow, orange to red.

Habitat: On riverbanks in forest.
