Description:
Erect herb up to 38 cm high with slender, often branched, hairy stems. Leaves narrowly elliptic, lanceolate, linear or linear-oblanceolate or ovate-elliptic, 1.3–4.2 cm long, covered with short hairs; petioles up to 3 mm long; stipules with c. 3–7 deltoid segments 1–2 mm long from a pale chestnut-coloured base 1–1.5 mm long. Inflorescences c. 2–4 mm wide, supported by the apical pair of leaves. Calyx tube 1 mm long, covered with small scaly hairs; lobes very minute, crowned with hairs, one lobe sometimes slightly larger. Corolla white or tinged bluish mauve; tube 1.75–4 mm. long, hairless outside, lobes 1.3–1.5 mm long, hairy outside. Fruit somewhat pointed at the apex, 1.3–1.75 mm long, densely covered with scaly hairs.

Habitat: On rocks and in rocky soils, particularly in metalliferous areas.

Worldwide distribution: Angola, DRC, CAR, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and Zimbabwe.
