Description:
Much-branched erect annual or perennial herb, up to 30 cm tall. Leaves alternate, sessile, up to 35 × 6 mm, densely covered with short appressed bristles or glandular. Capitula solitary at the ends of branches on peduncles up to 8 cm long, covered with rough stalked glands near the base. Involucral bracts greenish, outer shortest, with roughish glands; inner up to 5.5 mm long. Ray-florets numerous, yellow, 7 × 1.2 mm. Disk-florets numerous, yellow.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: mossamedensis: of Moçâmedes District in Angola, where the type specimen was found.
Habitat: In grassland, scrub and along roadsides.
Altitude range: (metres) Up to 1900 m
Flowering time:Oct - Apr
Worldwide distribution: Angola, Botswana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, and South Africa as far as KwaZulu-Natal.
