Description:
Small glandular annual herb, up to 25 cm. Stems prostrate to ascending, up to 60 cm long, covered in long hairs. Leaves variable, up to 6.5 cm long, cordate and clasping the stem at the base, densely hairy , particularly on the veins; margin entire or toothed, sometimes lobed. Inflorescences terminal or axillary, globose up to c. 10 mm in diameter on glandular hairy peduncles up to 6 cm long. Florets purple.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: flexuosus: zigzag, much bent (probably referring to the stem)
Habitat: In wet grassy places and vlei margins; also a colonist of cultivated areas

Flowering time:Aug - Oct
Worldwide distribution: Nigeria, Cameroon, DRC, Sudan, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Caprivi-Namibia and Angola.
