Description:
Erect perennial herb. The long narrowly elliptic leaves are glabrous on the upper surface, hairy below, mainly around the lower parts of the stem. The branched inflorescences of loose flowerheads are pale yellow to straw coloured.

Habitat: In grassland. It may be locally abundant in disturbed areas and on roadsides.

Worldwide distribution: Widespread in Africa from West Africa to NE, East and southern Africa to the Cape; also in Yemen
