Leaves numerous, sessile, small, c. 5 × 1.5 mm, spathulate-oblong, densely covered in silvery-grey felt on both surfaces. Capitula in clusters of 3-4 at the ends of branches. Involucral bracts c. 4-seriate, c. 6.5 mm long, triangular and reflexed at the apex, silvery-white, tipped pinkish-purple.
Notes: Note: the specimen in the photographs appears to match H. serpentinicola exactly. However, it was recorded from serpentine hills near Mutare. It may well be that the distribution of certain serpentine soil endemics extends this far but, as these hills are completely isolated from the Great Dyke by over 300 km, further research into the status of these taxa is needed. See also Euphorbia acervata.
