Description:
Perennial herb, up to 1.6 m. Capitula in large terminal, branched heads. Ray-florets white to pale cream; disc-florets darker cream.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: triactinus: Gk. tri- (three), Gk. aktis, aktinos (ray); referring to the 3 white rays of each capitulum in the original description. Our plants appear generally to have more than 3 rays.
Habitat: In a variety of open habitats, often along road sides.
