Description:
Erect or ascending hairless annual, 20-50 cm high. Stems not succulent, purplish. Leaves linear to narrowly oblanceolate, up to 4.5 cm long (mostly smaller); apex obtuse; base narrowed to a petiole-like base; margin irregularly and very shallowly crenate. Capitula base truncate, 10-13 mm in diameter, including rays. Phyllaries c. 13, equal, in 1 series, 5-6 mm. Rays 11-13, 4-5 mm long, orange-yellow. Achenes c.1.5 mm, papillose. Pappus of numerous white setae, 2-3 mm long.

Worldwide distribution: Known from Zambia and Zimbabwe but may be more widespread.
