Description:
Slender, sparsely branched erect herb with annual stems, up to 55 cm tall, growing from a perennial rootstock. Leaves narrowly linear up to 8.5 cm long; margin distinctly rolled under. Flowers in 3-7-flowered umbels on a long peduncle. Corolla lobes dull yellow, purple-red on the outside. Corona normally golden yellow, outer lobes spreading, tapering to a long point.

Habitat: In grassland.
Altitude range: (metres) 1000 - 2000 m
Flowering time:Sep - Feb
Worldwide distribution: Angola, southeastern DRC, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini and Northwest, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal South Africa.
