Description:
Erect shrub, up to 60 cm high with ribber, hairless branches. Spines down-curved, 2-5 mm long. Spinules below flowers absent. Cladodes in fascicles of 1-4 together,5-10 mm long and c. 1 mm wide, stellately arranged on zigzag branchlets. Inflorescences simple or compound, 20-45 mm long. Flowers solitary or in 2-4-flowered fascicles, apparently very short-lived and seldom seen. Berries 7-9 mm in diameter, red when ripe.

Habitat: Among quartzite sandstone rocks
