Description of the genus

Shrubs or small trees with milky latex. Tendrils 0. Stipules 0. Leaves opposite. Inflorescence of few- or several-flowered terminal cymes. Corolla lobes hairy, overlapping to the right. Stamens 5, sessile. Disk present. Fruit of 2 follicles. Seeds with an apical coma, not rostrate.

Worldwide: 12 species in Madagascar, with 1 extending to Africa

Zimbabwe: 1 cultivated taxon.
