Description of the genus

Shrubs, trailing or scandent; white latex. Leaves opposite; glabrous, minutely dotted. Inflorescence cymes, umbellate or compound corymbase; axillary or terminal. Flowers white; calyx 5-partite; lobes narrowly ovate-lanceolate; sepals free with or without glands inside; corolla sub-rotate, limbs spreading; lobes broad. Fruit paired follicles, oblong, free; splitting from below. Seeds numerous, starchy; apex crowned with coma.

Worldwide: 3 species in tropical Asia

Zimbabwe: 1 cultivated taxon.
