Description of the genus

Shrubs or small trees. Leaves alternate, with apical teeth. Inflorescence a capitulum, axillary, solitary or in groups; involucral bracts small and green, not brightly coloured.

Worldwide: 46 species, mainly South African with one extending to Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe: 1 cultivated taxon.
