Common names:
Description: A straggling, sometimes climbing shrub with stems up to 3 m or more tall. Leaves often clustered, narrowly to broadly elliptic, 3.5-9 cm long, hastate at the base and narrowed above the basal lobes, distinctly 3-veined, hairless; petiole 1-4 cm long. Ocrea 1-1.5 cm long, membranous, entire,falling early. Flowers arranged in 2-6-flowered whorls on pedicels 2-5 mm long; whorls together forming leafless terminal panicles. Outer perianth segments brownish; inner segments red to reddish-brown; stamens 6. Fruit 2-2.5 mm long, trigonous,shiny brown.

Worldwide distribution: DRC, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and Zambia.
