Large tree to 20 m. Branchlets reddish-brown, sometimes with corky wings (“reptilian form” per Wikipedia). Leaves: petiole 6-10 cm long; lamina 7-20 cm long, 5(-7)-lobed, mainly glabrous, glossy green but producing strong red, yellow and orange colours in autumn; base ± truncate; lobes acuminate and finely serrate. Fruiting heads 2.5-3.8 cm in diameter. |
