Description: Differs from Liquidambar styraciflua in the leaves having 3(-5) lobes compared with 5(-7) in L. styraciflua.
Notes: Rarely cultivated in Zimbabwe.
Derivation of specific name: formosana from Taiwan, formerly Formosa.
