Description of the genus

Twining climbers. Corolla deeply 5-lobed. Corona of 5 tubercles attached to base of staminal column. Anthers bearing a small appendage. Follicles narrowly fusiform. Seeds with narrow marginal wing.

Worldwide: 50 species in the Old Word tropics and South Africa

Zimbabwe: 6 taxa.
