Description of the genus

Erect spiny shrub or small tree. Leaves simple, opposite or fascicled, greyish-woolly. Calyx tubular, splitting laterally, with 5(-6) lobes. Corolla campanulate, slightly 2-lipped, 5(-7)-lipped, white or pinkish, with a long (4 - 8 cm) tube. Capsule woody, with warty valves. Seeds winged, papery.

Worldwide: 1 species in tropical and South Africa

Zimbabwe: 1 taxon.
