Description of the genus

Shrubs or small trees. Leaves 3-foliolate; petioles and petiolules articulated. Flowers in loose corymbose racemes. Sepals 4. Petals 4; 2 upper, larger. Androphore elongated, longer than the sepals, with a bundle of staminodes at the base. Ovary 1-locular. Fruit large, spherical. Seeds numerous.

Worldwide: 1 species in S and SE Africa

Zimbabwe: 1 taxon.
