Note 21: Alien plants by Glenara Avenue South, Harare by Mark Hyde
This note discusses a remarkable colony of alien plants found by Glenara Avenue South in Harare in August 1996.
The plants appeared on a dry slope on the northern side of Glenara Avenue South, not far from the bend in the road where Mundy Road ends and Newmarch Avenue begins.
What caught the eye was the numerous yellow crucifers (Brassicaceae) which are an unusual site in Harare. These were
Rapistrum rugosum.
