Bark dark, longitudinally fissured, reddish-yellow in the cracks. Younger branches yellowish-red and longitudinally fissured. Canopy spreading leaves in typical Terminalia rosettes. Very large, velvety on both sides. Darker above than below. Flowers in spikes, 5 pointed bells with lots of stamens. Green coloured. Pods typically Terminalia.
