| Description: |
Stemless plant forming dense clumps arising from a creeping rhizome. Leaves 4-6 per shoot, 50-70 × 6-10 cm, flat to shallowly U-shaped in cross-section, rigid, recurved, with shallow longitudinal grooves; apex obtuse. Peduncle c. 15 × 2 cm. Flowers in a capitate head, pale green, in clusters of 4-6. Perianth tube 10-12 cm, purplish. Fruit globose, orange-red. |
