| Description: |
Annual glabrous herb with stems twining or prostrate, several metres long, with long internodes, smooth or finely striate, occasionally somewhat muriculate. Leaf lamina circular in outline, palmately divided to the base into 5 lobes, up to 13 × 12 cm lobes elliptic, acute at both ends. Inflorescences cymosely 1–6-flowered. Sepals ovate, 5–7 mm long. Corolla funnel-shaped, white or mauve, 1.9–2.4 cm long, the limb lobed and crinkly. Seeds depressed-ovoid, dark brown, grooved on the outer face, densely silvery-grey tomentose and usually with long soft cottony hairs on the margins. |
