Description:
Rhizome widely creeping, c. 1-2 mm in diameter; rhizome scales dark brown, subentire, narrowly ovate to ovate-oblong. Fronds spaced apart, erect, coriaceous, simple, dimorphous. Stipe up to 6 cm long, brown when dry, glabrous except for a few brown scales. Sterile lamina up to 2.5 × 7 cm, oblong-elliptic to obovate or spathulate in outline, apex pointed to rounded, base broadly to narrowly wedge-shaped, glabrous above, with few minute scales below. Fertile lamina smaller than sterile lamina, up to 1.4 × 0.6 cm, oblong-elliptic to broadly elliptic in outline, glabrous above, sori covering the whole undersurface of the lamina.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: marojejyense: named after Marojejy mountain massif in Madagascar where this species was first collected.
Habitat: Among moss in boulders and rock crevices in deep shade on high altitude mountain peaks.
