Description: |
Perennial sedge up to 75 cm high, with tufted culms, growing from slender stolons. Leaves 2-4 per culm, linear, up to 40 cm long with basal sheaths pale brown. Involucral bracts 3-5, leaf-like, spreading, 11-31 cm long. Inflorescence capitate or simple with 1-5 branches up to 5.5 cm long; spikelets in dense clusters, up to 35 per cluster. Spikelets, ovoid, 3.5 - 10 mm long with axis often curved; glumes dark brown to black. |
