Tufted soft-succulent perennial herb. Plants in small clusters, growing from a vertical rhizome. Leaves erect or arching, linear, grass-like, up to 60 cm, broadly winged. Normally 1 flowering stem per plant with a dense many-flowered terminal inflorescence. Fruits black when mature. |
