Description: |
Perennial herb up to 45 cm tall. Underground parts a woody rhizome bearing 1-several plants. Leaves numerous, green, grass-like, linear-terete; sheathing leaf bases broadly winged, abruptly tapering into the narrow leaf lamina; leaf base column becoming yellowish and shiny papery when dry; margins glabrous, not ciliolate. Peduncle 1 per plant. Racemes usually overtopping the leaves, densely many-flowered, usually less than 5 cm long and corymb-like or conical. Floral bracts auriculate. Tepals yellow. Capsule not inflated when mature. |
