Description:
Plant with horizontal racemes.
Notes: The species is under threat from mining and agriculture.
Derivation of specific name: ortholopha: from Greek, orthos, erect, straight, and lophos a crest; referring to the one-sided inflorescence.
Habitat: A plant of serpentine grasslands, occurring on slopes and along ridges.
Altitude range: (metres) 1450 - 1530 m
Flowering time:Jul - Aug
Worldwide distribution: Restricted to the Mvurwi range on the northern Great Dyke.
Zimbabwe distribution: N
