Description:
Plants singly or in tufts, growing from corms. Stems branched usually with 3 to 6 pendulous flowering spikes. Flowers light to dark purple-pink, crowded together with overlapping bracts. The bract tissue typically fused a solid mass for much of the length.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: inyangense: of the Nyanga (Inyanga) area of the Eastern Highlands
Habitat: In rocky montane grassland.
Altitude range: (metres) 1650 - 2300 m
Flowering time:Aug - Mar
Worldwide distribution: Restricted to the border mountains of Zimbabwe and Mozambique between Nyanga and Tsetsera.
