Description:
Parasitic shrub up to 1.5 m long, pendent when older. Branchlets with whitish hairs 1-2 mm long. Leaves opposite to subopposite, occasionally alternate or clustered on short shoots, elliptic-obovate to elliptic-ovate or subcircular, tomentellous when young, glabrescent with age. Flowers in few-flowered axillary umbels and around old nodes. Corolla 4-5 cm, yellow-green and whitish tomentose outside, green turning reddish inside; lobes 8-10 mm, spathulate. Anthers scarlet, 2.5-4 mm. Berry red, cylindric, tomentose.

Habitat: In deciduous woodland, wooded grassland and riverine fringes, mostly on Ficus spp but also on Combretum and legumes.

Worldwide distribution: From eastern Tanzania to northern South Africa.
